I am a guitarist turned luthier.Well, technically I'm still a guitarist. I would image after 30 years of playing, I will always be a guitarist. Thirty years ago I got my first guitar, a red squier Stratocaster to be exact. For those who don't know, a mid 90's squier was arguably not the best made guitar, but it was an excellent place to start tinkering.As a working guitarist, there wasn't always extra money to take my guitar to someone else to fix it. I learned over the years how to do a lot of the regular maintenance and repair work myself. As one would expect, learning repair work eventually lead to studying tone wood and instrument construction. I also have a background in carpentry and woodworking.Now after all this time, I'm finally opening my services and skills with the public.
